My Love: Tokyo

The city that captured my heart. 20+ visits and I still discover something new every time.

Why Tokyo?

There's no city like Tokyo. Ancient temples stand next to neon-lit skyscrapers. The food is unmatched - from Michelin-starred restaurants to tiny ramen shops. The people are incredibly kind. The trains run on time, to the second. It's organized chaos, beautiful contradictions, and endless discovery. After 20+ visits, I still feel like a first-time explorer.

🍜 The Food

Sushi at Tsukiji, ramen in Shinjuku, yakitori under the train tracks. Every meal is an experience. Tokyo has the most Michelin stars of any city in the world.

🚄 The Efficiency

Trains that arrive on the exact second. Streets that are impossibly clean. A society that works like clockwork. It's mesmerizing.

🏯 Old Meets New

A 400-year-old temple next to a robot restaurant. Traditional tea ceremonies and arcade madness. The contrast is magical.

🌸 The Culture

Respect, kindness, attention to detail. The Japanese approach to everything - from wrapping a gift to serving coffee - is art.

Flying Tuga's Tokyo Tips

1

Get a Suica Card

First thing at the airport. It works on all trains, buses, and even convenience stores. Essential.

2

Stay Near a Train Station

The train system is your lifeline. Shinjuku or Shibuya stations are perfect bases.

3

Eat at the Counters

Solo dining is normal and wonderful. Sit at ramen counters and sushi bars for the real experience.

4

Carry Cash

Many places are still cash-only. 7-Eleven ATMs work with foreign cards.

5

Visit in Spring or Fall

Cherry blossoms (late March/April) or autumn leaves (November) are magical. But honestly, Tokyo is great year-round.
